This position is responsible for supervising and directing the daily operations of the vehicle check-in and registration area, including assigned personnel.This position is utilized at locations with consignment exceeding 200,000 vehicles per year only.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate with Lot Operations to ensure efficient movement of vehicles from the check-in area to the sale lanes or other appropriate areas on the lot.
  • Review and implement check-in procedures and Auto Work Order guidelines, making sure vehicles are checked in and out correctly. Monitor incoming vehicles and ensure that they are received, stocked-in, numerated, staged.
  • Route transporter condition reports and invoices to the appropriate personnel for processing.
  • Perform physical checks/audits on random vehicles. Provide detailed and timely feedback to employees.
  • Administer and maintain equipment and equipment updates. Maintain inventory of supplies used within the department.
  • Assure that vehicle entry standards concerning check-in processes are being followed. Maintain knowledge of vehicle entry standards and communicates changes to departmental employees.
  • Provide quality service and interact with dealers to resolve customer complaints or any other problems that may occur.
  • Assign and reissue numbers to dealers (not already assigned by Customer Support) and register vehicles.
  • Maintain communication with other departments and management team providing relevant information to coordinate activities of the department and ensure high quality of service to both internal and external customers.
  • Supervise and direct the work of vehicle check-in employees by determining work procedures, preparing work schedules, expediting the workflow, assigning duties and examining work for accuracy and conformance to policies and procedures.
  • Assist manager in counseling and disciplining employees, monitoring and evaluating employee job performance, and conducting performance appraisals.
  • Visibly demonstrate safety commitment by following all safety and health procedures and modeling the behaviors related to such. Work in cooperation with safety leadership in support of all safety activities aligned with Safety Excellence.
  • Work with manager to review work volumes, plan and continuously monitor staffing levels to ensure efficiency, quality work product, and effective customer service; review departmental performance against key performance indicators and metrics and develop and execute strategies for improvement.
  • Effectively leads the team at the location by setting an example in behavior, championing Cox/Manheim values and ensuring that all employees are treated with respect.
  • Enforce all company policies and procedures related to employee and customer conduct.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.


  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Experience in Automobile or Auction industry preferred.
  • Strong communication and interaction skills required.
  • Competent supervisory and excellent organizational skills required.
  • Basic computer skills preferred. Valid drivers license and good driving record required.
  • Ability to drive vehicles with standard and automatic transmission.
  • Knowledge of transportation and current DMV laws and regulations preferred.
  • Frequently required to stand, walk, reach, talk and hear.
  • Regularly required to stoop, kneel, crouch, bend, squat and climb.
  • Ability to exert force up to 20 pounds occasionally and up to ten pounds frequently.
  • Vision abilities required include close, distance and color vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
